Growing up around the docks, Octavian spent his formative years running across ships and up sails playing and generally getting in trouble with the sailors. One day, at the age of 12, Octavian stowed away on a merchant ship in hopes of embarking on a grand adventure. However, he was eventually caught by the crew but it was already too late; the ship was far from port. Pleading, Octavian convinced the ship captain to let him stay aboard and learn the trade. For 3 years, Octavian was an unofficial member of the crew until one day, pirates attacked. Though successful in repelling the pirates, many of the sailors were wounded and Octavian felt helpless as he was too young and inexperienced to fight. When the ship returned to port, Octavian scrounged up what money he could earn and began learning the ways of the warrior from whoever was willing to teach him. As he grew older and more experienced, Octavian hired himself out as a marine mercenary…soldiers who specialize on fighting on ships. Now, Octavian dreams of forming an official corps of soldiers that can defend ships from pirates and other scum alike.
